Summer is coming and Switch on Your Creativity 4th edition is ready to introduce a new serie of life performances as main activity for music section of our incubator for youth creativity.

Thanking Garden Blaze Talents Management Studio in Milan, as sponsor, we are glad to announce the prosecution of open call for musician for special project that will involve italian performers into three months schedule in Malta starting from July 2017.

In cooperation with most important venue for Live Jazz in the island we are going to introduce musicians and singers who will promote italian creativity on international scenario joining high level’s live music community.

As incubator for youth participation into cross cultural artistic projects we are glad to offer a concrete opportunity for summer time. It doesn’t mean only a job placement but it’s also the way to receive promotional services and post-production’s support as professional service offered for free because managed as Switch on Your Creativity’s official contents. As part of our incubator’s activity wet will follow the performers during their show and we’ll do our best to spread the voice about their involvement.

The bridge Milan – Malta represents a great occasion for a meeting as #ereditàexpo #expolegacy after Milano EXPO 2015 and a great welcome for more intense cultural cooperation in terms of participation and mutual cooperation. We would like to remind that on 2018 Valletta it will be European Capital of Culture and we are sure that introducing this important event with the right step means a successful strength point for both of us.

Inauguration day – vernissage in Osaka

On May 26 has taken place the inauguration of the first of two vernissage organized by Asian Studies Group for the Contemporary Art section of Switch on Your Creativity.

The official opening was held in the splendid Osaka Festival Hall, at the presence of the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute Stefano Fossati and the Consul General of Italy Marco Lombardi, as well as a limited number of selected guests.

The exhibition, curated by Dr. Paolo Cacciato -scientific director of Asian Studies Group-, sees the participation of young Italian artists and a small collective of works done by students coming from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.

The link between these two clusters is the theme of creativity lived as an exploration through the senses, objects, places, experiences …, keeping the focus on Italian heritage and / or the city of Milan, seen as a meeting place between Western and Oriental culture.

Among the young Italian artists are there: Marco Randazzo, Gianluca Sità, Andrea Sbra Perego, Vittorio Asteriti, Margherita Martinelli, Elisa Vendramin, Sophie Mühlmann, Filippo Cristini and Giorgia Cavaliere, while Elias Bertoldo, Silvia Greco, Magda Chiarelli, Yuki Aoki and Saeed Naderi represent the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.

The Director Stefano Fossati and the Consul General of Italy Marco Lombardi has shown deep interest on the works selected by Asian Studies Group, so as to consider the possibility to postpone the closing of the exhibition beyond the deadline of June 15, moving it in Art schools and University in Osaka.

Switch on your Creativity was born in 2013 as the Asian Studies Group production. It is an intercultural contest on youth creativity in Milan, very close to EXPO 2015. Thanks to the involvement of prestigious technical sponsors such as Enel, JAL, Samsung and Philips during 2013/2014 and 2014/2015, Switch on your Creativity rewarded creative works developed on diverse themes but with constant appreciation of the encounter between Western and Oriental culture.
During the award ceremony of the second edition, in the presence of EXPO 2015 and of all the major institutions, the “Charter of Values for Youth Creativity” was presented, a programmatic document by which an International Commission for Young Creative puts the foundation for a series of proposals in order to favor and enhance the centrality of Milan as the European Capital of Creativity. Thus, the competition becomes an accelerator of creative projects with the aim of supporting the creation, promotion and support of creative content from Europe and Asia by guiding young protagonists in matching terms with sponsors or favoring their realization of international creative projects in Milan and consolidating, through them, territorial marketing actions for the City of Milan, facilitating twinning prospects with institutions, organizations, festivals and academies.
Switch on your Creativity, now in the fourth edition, continues in the enhancement of content that keeps alive the artistic dialogue between Asian and European countries, through the exaltation of works of wisdom. Switch on your Creativity best rep
resents for Milan what we have defined #ereditàexpo, that is, a legacy of dynamism and admiration for our city that the 2015 Universal Exposition have instilled in countries and cultures around the world.
Switch on your creativity 4th edition develops along the theme “Creativity is Discovery”. The creative proposals selected and introduced in our accelerator for promotion and realization fall into the following categories

For what concern the Contemporary Art section of the 2017 edition, Asian Studies Group has consolidated a collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Osaka, welcoming at its Space Art at Osaka Festival Hall the exhibition entitled “From Milan to
Osaka, a bridge of emotions in the discovery of the Ego”, by Dr. Paolo Cacciato, the scientific director of Asian Studies Group. The exhibition will last three weeks, from 27th May to 15 June. Two categories are involved: 5 postgraduates students of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, and 9 young professionals who deal with the topic of discovery as a meeting of cultures, narrative of their subjectivity, discovery of diversity in comparison with the world, desire and need to communicate their own feeling with the “World Japan”.
The participating artists for the young professional category are: Andrea Sbra Perego; Marco Randazzo, Giorgia Cavaliere; Gianluca Sità; Filippo Cristini; Elisa Vendramin, Sophie Muhlmann, Margherita Martinelli, Vittorio Asteriti;
For the young students of the Accademia di Brera will participate: Elias Bertoldo, Saeed Naderi, Yuki Aoki, Silvia Greco and Magda Chiarelli.
We thank for their collaboration and institutional support Expo in the City and the Councilor for Culture Filippo Del Corno,
with us from the first edition; The Italian Institute of Culture in Osaka in the Director of Fossati, without whose support, the event would not have taken place;

The SWITCH ON YOUR CREATIVITY proposal for its 4^th edition is “Creativity is Discovery”

This contest, edited by Asian Studies Group, has the aim to explore creativity, viewed from different perspectives.

This not only through six different thematic areas (music, short films, contemporary art, Innovation, Show and Dance, Fashion & Design) but collaborating more closely with institutions like EXPO in CITTÀ’, which sponsors the event, and a number of international institutions linked to Eastern culture.

In this sense, Asian Studies Group has developed a fruitful joint with the Italian Film & Art Festival – IFAF – in Seoul, the solely Italian film festival in Korea.

Inside the Italian Film & Art Festival (next date in November 2017), SWITCH ON YOUR CREATIVITY will have a space where to expose participants works for the short film category.

Between the 30^th of June and the 1^st of July, the Director of IFAF, Dr. Lanki Jung, will come to Italy make an open seminar over Korean cinematography and to assist to a film screening of emerging artists from Korea, selected by her.

We are collecting video-visual projects which meet the theme of Creativity lived like a discovery (emotional, environmental, sensory, landscaping, instrumental, etc..) and you can introduce your work emailing us to:

Creativity is Discovery – the 4th edition 2017

Switch on Your Creativity has become concretely a real cross cultural and well framed accelerator for youth creativity and it’s ready to sustain many projects for the next year introducing Milan as preferential frame to develop international contents on diversified creative sections with the topic “Creativity is Discovery”

For the new edition the Charter of Values for Youth Creativity created on 2015 during Milan EXPO still represents the core-contents of the initiative. For 2017 these values will be officially introduced during two important partnered events abroad: the Italian Film and Arts Festival of Seoul and during first edition of Milan Osaka Youth Creativity Day promoted by our organization Asian Studies Group in collaboration with Italian Institute of Culture in Osaka. At the same time these international events will be preferential occasion to present and promote some creative contents approved and presented in Italy during the 4th edition on 2017.

Switch on Your Creativity started as international contest promoted on 2013 by Asian Studies Group in occasion of Milano EXPO 2015 but from last edition has become a multi-platform incubator with many activities realized with introduction of experts, supporters, funds, locations and services.

The current edition includes six different sections where it’s possible for youth creative personalities (individuals, organizations, schools, associations, foundations etc) to present initiatives that concern cross cultural dimension (like europe and asia on dialogue and mutual cooperation or comparison between europe and asia) and follow the principles of our Charter of Values for Youth Creativity.

We’ll consider the initiatives that include the following elements for those concerns creative elements

As part of our NPO’s activity we examine all the requests of support for the realization of the projects and we select those meet our feasibility ‘s scheme according with sponsors and institutions interested to follow specific contents.

For 2017 our organization Asian Studies Group decided to inaugurate a new platform called Force for Creativity, Art and Innovation. The fund consist of amount collected basically by annual membership subscriptions or sales of services made by our organization. First of all the fund support the organization of conclusive Gala Night when some projects receive special mention for particular costitutive factors and “The international dialogue between cultures, Europe and Asia on dialogue” Award is assigned. Beyond that the fund is also a collector for sponsors or institutions that want to support our mission.

Milan and Creativity: International Dialogue between Cultures Award 2016

The Charter of Values for Youth Creativity inaugurated during Milano EXPO 2015 is our guidance to develop, promote, realize and finally judge creative contents for our international contest.

For the third edition, just celebrated few days ago in Milan at Novotel Milano Nord Ca’ Granda, we decided to present a selection of projects have been considered very important according with four core-points of our charter.

Beyond introducing officially the six categories that will characterize Switch on your creativity by now (Contemporary Art, Music and Show, Short Movie, Creative Composition, Fashion & Design, Creativity as Innovation for Companies) we assigned three different awards to creative projects supported by our format and that have been considered fully connected with our cross cultural aims.

Because of the origin of our incubator for youth creativity and our intention to promote at the same time the contents, the supporters and the city (Milan), all the projects that we introduce have taken place in Milan during the last year of activity (from september 2015 until summer 2016)

As we mentioned in the previous post the third edition of Switch on Your Creativity is going to get conclusion in the Gala Night on 12 of October 2016 but our incubator for youth creativity in Milan is collecting already lot of enthusiasm and proposals for the new edition.

That’s why we decided to invite some special guests during the Gala Night to celebrate special performances that will introduce new perspective of creative projects between Europe and Asia for the next edition 2017.

For Music and Show section we are very glad to present first ever in institutional event in Milan the music performance of Redsky with “Butoh Dance Contribute” by Marek Janson Islaib.

Switch on Your Creativity examined contents and creative profile of this italian artist and considering the large number of followers who are constantly appreciating videos and online performances as long as youth participation on comments and online creative campaigns boosted through Official You Tube Channel, it has been judged as innovative content for our Music & Show section.

Asian Studies Group decided to support the artistic project that will see Redsky protagonist in special tour with performances in Japan. As we’ve done for other artists we’ll propose some promotional opportunities between Milan and Japan to make the artistic experience of Redsky dynamic and successful as much as possible.

We still didn’t finish yet the third edition of our incubator for youth creativity and new projects are already taking off as part or our dynamic network of collaborations that make Milan as special place to boost and vitalyze creativity industry.

Just to mention some opportunities that we are going to promote for next months: creative campaigns for some cultural events as strategies for cross cultural marketing in behalf of some commercial players, International exhibition in Osaka for young talents with promotion and support of Ministry for Foreign Affairs, creative viral marketing with cross media contents and storytelling for services agency, artistic involvement as consulting for promotional solutions, call for video contents for special section of Italian Film Festival in Seoul, exhibitions and cultural concepts from Europe boosted in one of most important galleries of Shanghai and much more.

Beyond these concrete working opportunities we also are going to improve our Fund for Arts, Creativity and Innovation that will support creative personalties during their first step into public scene to promote their profile as long as their creative vision with inter-action of cultural industry.

Plan of Milan for Creativity as Innovation, opportunity for StartUp Companies

One of the features of new edition of Switch on your Creativity goes beyond creativity as generally known. Our project has grown during Milano EXPO 2015 and has become a concrete opportunity to improve skills on continuous stimulus for that concerns our “Charter of Values for Youth Creativity”; if we consider creativity as fundamental for innovation and in particular for those companies that make innovation as core aspect in their structure we easily find a common point of joint between creativity and start up companies.

That’s why for current edition we decided to focus on creativity in wider perspective including also creativity as winning feature for start up companies in comparison with traditional productive and business environment.

For this reason during “Switch on Your Creativity 2015 / 2016 – The Gala Night in Milan” fixed for 12 of October at Novotel Ca’ Granda, beyond presentation of creative project that made possible the establishment of new start up company operating from Milan on chinese market in field of services and communication, we are going to launch a new platform that will support during next edition the selection of innovative concepts that will get concrete benefits offered by partnered organizations operating with specialistic services for internationalization of start up companies towards two macro-areas (USA and China).

Korean Wunderkrammer chooses Milan

Korean Wunderkammer by Orange Bridge, a Korean art movement created in Milan, has been selected as a creative project for art section in the third edition of the Switch On Your Creativity, “Kaleidoscope Nature, Man at the Mirror”. The Collective exhibition that presents artworks by more than 150 contemporary korean artists, sums up very well the concept of research on the nature of art, the human society, as well as the relationship between cultural traditions of origins and insights from the West.

Over twenty artists under 35 years old are participating in the group’s exhibition and they are strengthening a well framed dialogue focused on youth participation that brings Korea close to Milan as the European capital of creativity (as defined officially by Minister of Industry Trade and Energy of Republic of Korea in Milan during the 130th anniversary of bilateral relations Italy Korea in June 2014) .

The exhibition “Korean Wunderkammer” will take place at Fondazione Luciana Matalon on 7 of July. It perfectly represents an equilibrated synthesis of Asian and Western dialectic and offers a contemporary sight through millenary culture. In these pieces, the national artistic soul meets the influences from west, and the tradition reinvents itself with new experiments.

This collective exhibition is like a call back to the roots, to the cultural fundamentals deeply shaken by radical economic, social and political changes that brought Korea on international scene. However, the exhibited works are like a pragmatic tale, more than a traditional one, where artists bring out a silent awareness and attitude, and are looking to rediscover their history and original individuality.

The journey through the “windows of curiosity“, typical European collecting, thrills in this “Korean” re-reading and stimulates the need for a comparison that is never satisfied when it comes to mutual understanding and inspiration.
